Two Charged Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Two individuals are now facing charges related to a luggage theft where a believed to be irritant spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.
This legal action stems from an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.
A young child was caught up in the incident in the event. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – described by police as was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – led to train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
